Purpose:
Following the research of Froebel, Erikson, Montessori, Piaget, Vygotsky and Malaguzzi, participants will connect the past of what is known about early childhood development to our present knowledge that defines the child. Through visual presentations, hands-on experiences and group discussions, participants will be introduced to a modern-day, sustainable approach to educating and connecting with the whole child.
Outcomes:
1.Develop insight and skills on how to apply the teachings of Froebel, Erikson, Montessori, Piaget,Vygotsky and Malaguzzi.
2.Reflect on and construct personal strategies for encouraging the development of dispositions such as joy, wonder, creativity, innovation and respect in addition to celebrating the strengths of hope, will, purpose, competence, fidelity, love, care and wisdom.
3.Realize and reflect upon the importance of listening.
4.Discover the role of problem-solving.
5.Connect to available resources in your community.
6.Become an advocate for the spirit of the child.
